Initially the clients thought nothing could help them, and that the therapy would fail. But the success of EMDR doesn't depend on belief! It's an uplifting story.

Notice how even though EMDR stands for "Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocesing," the therapy here used back-and-forth hand pulsers rather than eye movements. It works just as well.
